Iosu Rada
In the 1980s, when the original design being practiced focussed in particular on furniture, Iosu Rada, in collaboration with Carlos Lalastra, took an interest in dignifying and problem solving for cigarette machines, drills, motors and hoists, product that were to a large extent anonymous during those boom years in design, but which provided new avenues for development for major industrial sectors.
The experience of this pioneer of design covers an extensive professional career applied to a host of different operational fields in industrial and graphic design: vending machines, power tools, furniture, lighting, packaging, corporate branding etc. He also has an interest in and has contributed to the design of handcrafted products. Trained at the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, his work has received various acknowledgements and he has participated in a large number of publications and exhibitions, including the design exhibitions held at the Reina Sofia museum.
